In 1972, Jersey released a coin set to commemorate the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The set was issued in two finishes; proof and brilliant uncirculated. This was the first time that Jersey had issued gold coins making them particularly interesting to coin collectors.
Tax Status
The silver coins in this set are sold on the margin scheme, whilst the gold coins in this set qualify for VAT-free status as investment gold coins.
The obverse of each coin in the collection bears the second coin portrait of Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin with the legend:

The Arms of the Bailiwick of Jersey with the three gold lions passant guardant are derived from the seal which was granted in 1279 by Edward I.
The Royal Arms of 1593 from Elizabeth Castle in St Aubin's Bay.

The Jersey Lily. Jersey's national flower, the Amaryllis Belladonna originates from South Africa.
The Royal Mace of Jersey is symbolic of the island's ancient links with the British crown. It was presented to the Bailiff of Jersey by King Charles II in 1663.

These are not regarded as faulty or damaged goods as their precious metal content and value as a bullion coin is not affected. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.
Gold investment products are VAT free. Silver investment products are inclusive of VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated.
